Question '96 Toyota Camry seatbelt problem

Does anyone know how to remove the pillar trim panel so I can get at the retractable seatbelt? The darn thing won't retract.

Thumbs down

If it won't retract, chances are it's jammed internally, unless it's obviously jammed outside. Don't gamble, replace the part with a new OEM one.

Also suggest you pick up a shop manual or Alldata.com subscription to guide you in taking the trim apart.

As I recall, a fair amount has to come out to access the retractor assembly.

Check with Toyota to see what their seatbelt warranty is. Honda has a lifetime warranty on seatbelts. They replaced mine for free on my 1985 Civic with 145,000 miles.
