Depends on which V-8; go here to find your firing order:

It helps to know which Cadillac we are talking about.

There was a 350 V8 in the Eldorado which is essentially a "reboxed" Olds V8, a 350 vin 8.

There is a 368 Cadillac produced engine for all of the others that year. Carbureted vin code 6 for most. Also the Seville and Eldo used a throttle body injected version of this engine too.

Either way, go to your local library and find an old Chilton or Motor book, it will have what you want. Best way.

In lieu of that, the firing order is printed on the intake manifold. Find #1 on the engine and cap and then follow the sequence. It will be very evident which one is wrong.

The book method is the best though.
