you can do whatever you want, as long as you don't put the other cars on the road in any harm from a mismatched system!
call a dealer with your vin number and speak to a warranty clerk(if they'll let you) you should have a bendix 9 system, which is very similiar to the caravan's bendix 10 system of that era---this system (the 10)has the warranty extended to 'lifetime' for most(not all) of the parts, due to some faulty designs inside. if it is covered for lifetime, why not get it fixed for free and be able to stop that thing quicker than a vacuum system.
