Moldy Smell

Recently the interior of my car wreaks of mold. It's not wet. What's the best way to get rid of the smell?

Mold tends to stay with a car forever for the most part.

Try some moth balls or cleaning the affected area. Once it's there, it's gonna stink for good, really.

You likely DO have a water leak somewhere.

Pull up the floor carpet, betcha find water. Unless some one left the window open in one H----- rain storm. That smell will impregnate every piece of cloth material in the car.

I do vaguely recall the car interior getting wet sometime ago during a rain storm secondary to as you said the windows being left open.

Thanks for the info

If the odor is due to the a/c evaporator, (mold, etc), then it will go away this winter when it freezes outside and the mold dies, assuming you live in such a location.
