Engine Cover

I have a friend with a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix with the 3.8 Litre V6 (not supercharged) that probably needs plugs. I noticed that the cover is held down in the front by the oil fill tube assembly. This assembly does not want to pull out with what I consider normal force, so I thought I would check to see if there is something else I need to do first before I just pull on it with more force to remove so I can get the cover off to check the plugs.
Thanks in advance!

You have to remove the oil filler neck and cap. (it should twist off counterclock wise) The plastic cover has a lip on the back end (closest to the firewall). Once you get the front edge loose, you'll have to get the lip that's on the back edge out from under a bracket..
