Stereo Install 88 Taurus

I've decided to replace the old Ford Stereo in my wagon as it has been eating my tapes.

I have opened a can of worms here. I have finally been able to find the proper power. One that doesn't turn off when I turn on the lights.

I'm now trying to find the wires to the speakers but I'm not having any luck. All of the wires show +12VDC . I'm not having any luck getting the sound from the newer stereo to the speakers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,

Rob

STOP!!!

Get a wiring harness from Crutchfield.com as this will prevent any cutting of wires.

As for power/ground, etc, What does your wiring diagram have to say?

Taurus 88 Stereo

Well Joe it is too late to stop.

The wirering diagram that is in my Haines book was inaccurate.

I have been able to find the power wire which is yellow with black stripe. I have also found the ground wire, blue with a red stripe.

I have also been able to get my exterior running lights working.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to get my panel lights working. Also I haven't been able to get the sound out of the speakers. Going the route of a manual is probably the best by boy it would be a large cost and I'm not certain of the length of time until it would arrive.
