roof rack whistle CRV

We have a 2003 Honda CRV which we love except for the very loud whistling noise from the roof rack. Happens in cool/cold weather when traveling 30-50 mph. Dealer service said he couldn't duplicate the noise (unfortunately it was warmer that day). Can't believe ours is the only one that does it. Would appreciate any help/suggestions.

Probably too new for Honda to have any real complaints on it yet....try adjusting the rack a bit to see if the problem subsides or not.

Maybe you have an joint that is opening a little in cooler weather. I would take elec tape and experiment. Tape a couple joints at a time, try to narrow it down that way. May not sound practical, but at this point its a hit and miss anyhow. Guy came to me and had a "windshield rattle" after a lot of looking, it was a plastic inner fenderwell flapping/vibrating at 65 MPH. I have Learned to look for stuff in the darndest places.

Thanks for the tips on adjusting the rack and taping the different joints. Hope it works!
