clicking noise

i have a 1984 buick park avenue, 6 cyl., automatic. all of a sudden it started making this clicking sound from the front of the car. only going forward, & the noise increases with the speed of the vehicle. could it be the speedometer cable or what?thanks for any help.

Front wheel drive?

If it is front wheel drive I would look at CV joints does it get worse on a turn under acceleration if so CV joint is wasted Look for torn rubber boot and grease slung out.

Mike:

All 1984 Park Avenues are RWD, 1985 starts the front drivers in these.

Original poster: Way too vague of a description. Need much more detail to help out.
