A step by step please (replace car battery)

The battery in my car is not useful anymore. Actually, the problem is that the terminal is corroded off. I did not know that you were supposed to clean the terminals when you get an oil change. Since I can't get a hold of anyone today I would like to take care of this myself. How do you remove the battery? What kind of battery should I buy and how do I install it? I have a 2003 Pontiac Sunfire. Please help!!!

Thanks

A 2003? If it is a Delco battery,
Back to the dealer, see if you can work out something with them,
they have been pretty good about replacements on these that were leakers or the Pos. post broken.

Still a warranty item.BTW a 13mm socket will remove the hold down bolt and a 5/16 will remove the cable bolts. You may need a large pair of channellocks to remove the broken(fell out)one.
