unsensitive brake light

Noticed that my brake lights come on only when I floor the brake pedal. The problem is,that normally slight touch controls the car,so it appears to others that I have no brake light. It is Mercury cougar 90 V6.It has ABS which was serviced few months ago (pump replaced),it appears to me that response of the lights got worse after that,or maybe I'm wrong.Q.: can I adjust the sensitivity of the brake lights so when I touch the pedal it will come on? Please help me out with that!

Check the adjustment of the brake light switch, if adjustable (some are not----it may be worn out).
