c/v axles

I'm working on a Geo prizm and I can't get the c/v axles out of the transaxle.

Most CV axles are held in place by an internal snap ring...I use a pry bar between the transaxle housing and the inner cv joint hub and give it a little bump. It should pop loose

or some light coaxing with a hammer on the inner cv housing body(the metal part). make sure with the pry bar that you don't hurt the seal inside the trans

i also find it easier to get the axle back in if i put the opening of the clip UP, then one good push and it will pop back in. if it's not going in easy, do not force it. make sure the clip's opening is still up and it's fully in the groove.
