88 aerostar heater control valve

Where is the heater control valve located in this vehicle. Its an 88 Ford Aerostar, I am getting circulation through the core, both heater hoses are hot. The vents blow luke warm. When temperature control switch is moved to cold the temperature drops. Moving the switch back to full heat we get luke warm air. What is the problem and where is the valve. Thanks Jeff. P.S. New thermostat.

it probably doesnt have a heater control valve if it does it will be inline on one of the hoses going to the heater core, if both heater hoses are getting hot i would suspect a blend door not switching all the way closed, the door is usually controlled by either a cable or vacum operated diaghram.

If the hoses are hot, the problem is inside the vehicle with the blend door system. Something's amiss.

I have seen cables broke, doors bent, things dropped down there (pencils), etc.
