1995 Ford Probe Trans Slipping

I have another question on slipping trans. Have a 95 Probe, automatic trans (CD4E). Found out that this trans is a lemon, history of big problems. Rebuilds have been known to last maybe a year or two and go out again, not really worth the effort and expense. I've always been told that manual trans are usually more reliable so I was thinking of doing a conversion from auto to manual. I'd like to what you all think, can it be done and is it worth it? thanks.

I think anything can be done.Sometimes it shouldn't be done like now.The expense of transforming this car is not very likely worth it in dollars or time.I'd bandaid the car somehow and dump it.You asked for opinions.

95 Probe

Davo,
Thanks for your opinion and your honesty. Much appreciated and I will certainly keep it in mind when I make a decision.
