Angry my car got spray painted

hey anybody.

does anyone know a good way to remove a little bit of spray paint from the exterior of a car?

i have a 2003 jeep liberty sport, white, and some goofball decided to spray paint a 10 inch by 3 inch black mark on my hood.

does anyone have any ideas or experience with getting this sort of thing out without having to spend tons of money?

thanks,

Use Goofoff. It is sold at Home Depot in the paint dept. Try it on an inconspicuous area before you go nuts on the car with it.

i've used lacquer thinner before with complete success, just make sure it's not on lacquer paint(or that will come off too)

Your Jeep is probably base coat/clear coat which is not lacquer. Try the lacquer thinner under the hood to make sure it doesn't attack the finish.....Mike

If they used enamel paint, try some regular old mineral spirit paint thinner, might soften it if it has not been on long. If the jeep had any wax, it may not have adhered very well. I have gotten light coatings and overspray off with clay magic.

All suggestions here are good. Depending on your deductible, your insurance should also cover it.
