advice needed: beginner attempts a tune-up

time for me to do a tune-up!

1985 dodge minivan 2.6l mitsu engine with a weber 2brl carb instead of the stock. Is there a place on the internet with a step-by-step how-to for a tuneup? Also, the car REALLY loses power when I cross the high mountain passes. It used to have some sort of vacuum advance or something that corrected for altitude. How can I get that to work again? Thanks, Scooter
p.s. 213,000 miles and going strong!

A good shop manual would be the best guide and is a recommended item if you are going to do your own work.

Really not much to tell on that one. Parts replacement is fairly straightforward.

A tuneup will help, but the problem may be elsewhere.
