a 1987 nissan sentra

i was wondering how long it would take and what i would need to rip everything out to replace the head gasket in it and i was wondering if anyone had a pic i could get to see what i need to rip off.

Probably 4 hours if you never did this before. You really need a manual to guide you on this, torque specs and such. You have to remember where everything goes, lifters, wires and lines, when you reassemble it. Not a hard job. Everything must be clean and use a good quality gasket. If you cant purchase a book, maybe check at the local library for one. First time for you so I repeat, you need a manual, as someone telling you exactly how this is done could possibly miss something without being on the spot with you.

I agree with Darrell but think it may take more time being the first one and I would have the head checked at a good machine shop.
