Heater Core

How do I replace the heater core in my 1988 Chevy Pickup Truck?

A can of worms. If it is air conditioned, system will need to be pumped down. Core has to re removed from inside cab, meaning the plastic shell has to come out. Possibly the dash, I am not sure. Someone will be along to verify about the dash. As detailed as it is, you may opt to pick up a service manual to guide you. An expensive project if farmed out to someone else. The price of the core will seem like nothing.

You should really consider a manual before digging in to this one,you don't say what series pickup but either way the heater box needs to come out and will require at least loosening some dash bolts. I don't have a manual handy but if I knew the model may be able to dig up something for you more specific.
