1999 Chevy Blazer???

I am looking to buy one. Any advice from ya'll on good and bad about it. It is a 4x4 LS model with 100,000 miles. (Don't worry, the price reflects the high miles and then some.)

I've seen them with 257k on the clock some repairs along the way but the engines seem to hold up well. Some trans problems not many, most would occur before100k unless beat to death.Lower ball joints on those that were not lubed properly. It's a used vehicle however so allow for some repairs to pop up.Take it somewhere and have it checked over mechanically and for codes.Best to know up front. If you are not allowed to do so back far away something is hidden.I f you can get service records it may help in your decision.

can the simple code readers at Autozone or Schucks find enough or should I find someone with the $2000 SnapOn scanner?

Your choice it's for your protection for hidden problems, will the Autozone show trans codes? If not go for the snap on scanner.
