You've verified spark. Now there are 2 more things to check. You need to check for injector pulse with a noid light and fuel pressure with a guage. Most likely it will be the fuel pump. If no fuel pressure you'll have to check for power at the tank for the pump once you find the right wire. It cycles on and off for 3-5 seconds with every key cycle.

If you have spark at your spark plugs then you most likely dont have a coil pack problem, cause thats where the spark plugs get their spark from.

You say you have spark, you have sprayed starting fluid and it won't fire.Time to see if your camshaft is turning. Some times you can remove the oil cap and see the cam other times you need to remove the upper timing cover. If the cam isn't turning it's time for a timing belt. This assumes that it's a 4 cylinder you never told us which engine is in your car.

The 2.2 is a timing chain engine. What exactly did it do when you tried to restart? Did you ever verify fuel pressure? What was the pressure? Too little info, not able to diagnose. You have to verify the basics first!!!

Here's a couple things to check:

When checking for spark, check all 4 wires.
Take a fuel sample, maybe it's actually water, or diesel fuel. Neither burn very well in this motor And the possability exists of the exhaust is plugged. The catalytic convertor might be too plugged up to let it start. Unhook it from the manifold(not easy) and see if it starts. And if it has a ton of miles on it, I have seen the timing gears wear out and let the chain jump timing.

there is no fuel line service port on this vehicle unfortunately.
you will need to disconnect a fuel supply line somewhere. How rusty is this car?
