Peeling Out

My buddy tells me he had a mustang lx and it was not hard at all on the transmission to burn rubber.He says there built for it.5-SPEED MANUEL.Is this true?

No car is "built for" that kind of abuse. You may get away with it a few times but it IS DOING and WILL do damage.

Tires Today, Tranny tomorrow. I did that with my old Hot Rod 66 Chevy PU. 3 TH350 trannys in 6 months.

I think not

Think about this NHRA funny cars were also built for this but how many do you see blowing an engine?But one thing they got your friend does not is sponsers to pay for parts with they destroy.

AMEN!thanks for all the input that's what i kinda thought because my brother who took machine trades told me that along time ago.I think my buddy believes his LX was invincible.

tell your buddy to keep trying to chirp third gear and see how long that lasts.

third gear is the weakest gear in the trans and will grenade easily, i've rebuilt plenty of these transmissions (the BW t-5)

And don't forget drive shafts/u-joints. It's funny when someone walks into the shop and asks "why is it bent?", and the teacher responds, "spinning the tires, taking off fast". Then they just stand there looking at their feet.
