Wiper blade arm 'slips'

Wiper blade arm 'slips'

What does it involve to 'tighten up' a wiper blade arm on a '89 Dodge Spirt that 'slips' alot?
I can move the arm that is slipping by hand to reposition it. The other arm is tight. It is the pasenger side that has the problem.

If it's the type with a nut tighten it. If it's a push-on or thightening it dosen't work replace the arm.

remove the arm and check the knurl on the shaft that protrudes thru the grill work, other words the part the arm fits on.

usually what i do, is turn the wipers off, key still on, so the linkage is parked. put the wiper arms where i want them and tighten the nuts until they're very tight, then tighten them some more. even if the knurl is stripped, this, most times, will band-aid them for another season of ice on the windshield.

if there's no nuts, it's time for a new wiper pivot(or arm)(or both).

the nut is usually under a small cap.

I will have to look at them closer. I believe the arm is pushed on the shaft.
