86 jeep cherokee right blinker not blinking

We have an 86 jeep cherokee laredo 4x4
right rear blinker not working,
all bulbs are good, has a good ground. Tail lights work , running lights work, brake lights work, emrg. flashers work, just no right turn signal in rear. front blinkers work fine, just right rear does not.

any suggestions?

Does this have the amber blinker (seperate bulb from the brake light)? Did you try another bulb to be sure it is not the bulb? If you tried another, test for power in the socket. Let us know what you find!

Hello again.
I have checked everything again this morning, now the right rear blinker is intermittent.

We all know how much fun that is!!!

while tracing the wire harness from r/r all the way to directional signal sw. I found a loose connection,

When you turn the sterring wheel, close the door, or anything that will make this wire move opens the circuit.

I found that inside the steering collum the brown wire for the r/r blinker has been worn to almost nothing, not shorting out but has been pulled by ????/ still don't know what it pulled on. replaced about 2 feet of the wire presto WE HAVE FLASHER/ BLINKER NOW

I hope this can help someone else who has a jeep with this type of problem..
Maybe it was from all that rough 4-wheelin!!!

I own 2 Jeep Cherokees and this is the only site you'll ever need for info related to your jeep.

-go to the forums, register, post your question and you'll get tons of responses.

Another good site is:

Jeep Cherokee's Rock.

Thanks June,

jeepsunlimited.com looks like a pretty good site for repair advise and ideas.

My ole Cherokee has 216,000 miles and has about 300k left.

No smoke even.

So I must agree Cherokee's ROCK
