Can I splice a harness??

Putting a 3.5 in an intrepid and the wireing harness to the bell housing has been cut. Can I splice the old harness in either by crimping or soldering it?? Looks like the end of the plug is molded on.

harness to the bell housing?

i'm wondering if that could the crank sensor harness...or the trans harness...anyways...if it's just missing a plug end or something fairly simple with just a few wires, then the answer is yes, you can repair it. always solder...never use crimp connectors, they are terribly inferior for today's autos. make sure you have enough roomn to work in and enough slack in the harness and then solder and heat shrink your connections...also remember to route the harness correctly and tie up any slack so as not to rub the harness and cause damage down the road. good luck...
