acceleration problem

Have a 79 Cad with 425 cu in motor. Runs good except when starting from stopped position, may die if I don't gently accelerate. I 'm guessing accelerator pump, but would like to know for sure before buying another carburetor. I've changed distributor cap, rotor, plugs and plug wires, also fuel filter.

last I checked, you can replace the pump very quickly and for a couple bucks, unless your carb is evil, then don't listen to me.
