Unhappy 1997 Nissan Maxima clock

I am sure this has to be very basic, but I cannot find the answer. The clock on the 97 Maxima is on dash above radio and cd player. It keeps time, but the light I think is an LED green does not stay on but goes off at times. Is there a loose wire, bulb or something someone of little ability could fix. I think only a plate has to come off, but I do not want to do this if too hard because of disabilities and am trying to save money since I only get SS. If someone knows how or what to do, I would really appreciate help on this. I know it is a small thing but I would get a certain amount of satisfaction knowing it could be fixed. I got a quote of over $250 to fix which sounds super rip off to me. Thank you in advance.

Most times those clocks are not serviceable.

Sounds like a problem inside the clock. They are just replaced, maybe you can get a used one at the junk yard?

Clock suggestion

I appreiate the suggestion, though I am limited on funds because of disability. Even $45.00 quote at bone yard a lot to me. But if I must I will save for it. My other half of concern is how hard is it to get to? I cannot find any books telling how panel or what comes off. Any help even on that would be good. It is cost and sense of accomplishment for me. If you wonder why money is a problem but I havea computer, it is through generous friend who gave me one and pays bill to keep busy.
