Coolant Direction

I have a 1996 Ford Aerostar that I just got a new heater valve for. The old one was missing and the lines plugged. My question is, from two hoses connected to the heater core, what hose (top or bottom) is headed toward the heater core and which toward the radiator?

Any help woudl be great. Thanks.

I could tell you exactly. I could even email you pictures. But you have not stated whether or not it's AWD or what engine size you have or whether or not you have A/C! Put forth a little effort for free advise people jeesh!

I have been in that situation before (not giving enough info) People don't know how much info you need, so they give you the minimum. We should be a little easier on the askers There is no telling that they know their way around forums well either, so there is a good chance that they missed Joe's basics and other "read this first" stuff.

The top one goes to the bottom of the water pump (the return) and the bottom one goes to the top of the engine outlet pipe. If you list your email address I can send you a picture.
