Spark Plug Poping Out

I have a 98 Chevy Calvalier 4 Cylinder. The number 3 spark plug keeps blowing off. This happens every other day. At first I thought that it just needed tighting up. So I tighten it down to the manufactors specs. The threads on the cylinder head looks clean so I don't think that they are strippeed. I did a tune up on the car about 6 months ago. Has anyone every had this problem? If so what is causing it to happing.

something has to be stripped. either the spark plug, or the head. if it is the head, you can use a heli-core to repair. it may not be perminant, but it works for us on our small engines.

maybe it is called heli-coil, i can never remember. here in texas, if we cant pronounce it we just mumble it and the parts guy will figure it out.

I agree, either bad head threads or plug threads.

If you under torque or leave a sparkplug loose...the resulting movement of the sparkplug will wear out the threads over a period of time. A heli-coil installed correctly should solve your problem.
