How to change battery cable?

Looks like the positive terminal needs to be replaced on a 90 Mustang.

Do I have to replace the entire wire or just the terminal?

You can just change the "terminal", BUT I would highly advise replacing the entire cable to eliminate a future problem.

Common problem with Fords. Change the whole cable. Most of them have a bracket on the back of the head that is hard to reach. Mustang may be easier the Grand Marquis's I usually do.

Desi is right change the whole cable. Those terminal ends are for temporary use only and will lead to a problem down the road.
