Performance????

I OWN AN 89 JEEP WRANGLER. I AM TRYING TO GET MORE HORSE POWER FROM MY 258 REBUILT ENGINE. I'VE PUT A K&N FILTER, MAGNAFLO MUFFLER, HIGH PERFORMANCE CAT., REBUILT CARB AND NEW GEARS TO HELP PUSH THE 33" TIRES. ANYTHING I CAN DO TO GET MORE OUT OF WHAT I HAVE?

Maybe the gears you chose are not low enough if your saying a 6 cylinder engine acts like a pig. What are you trying to achieve fuel economy or power? An older 390 with a blower and nitrous would probably wake it up.Please kill the all caps typing enough people shouted at me today.

Pushing 33" tires with a 6 cylinder? What are you expecting? You just defeated all your power when you put those tires on.

If you're rock crawling or 4 wheeling the V8 is what you want for torque and hp. I'm with davo go big block.

If you're set on keeping it and have alot of money invested in the rebuild have you thought about a 4bbl and a header.
