'89 Toyota Body Moulding Paint

The moulding around the upper door/lower roof line going all the way around the car is painted black. I'm positive this was a factory applied material. Some of the paint has rubbed off, from cleaning and waxing, and underneath is chrome (at least it looks like chrome).
- What type of paint will stick to chrome?
- If none, does anyone have any suggestions to cover these areas?
- Has anyone removed the paint and gone with chrome who could tell me if it looks reasonable. TIA for all responses.

I have seen the same thing you are talking about. It flakes off like a very bad paint application. I dont know of a product that will stick to chrome, but I think if the chrome is etched properly it is just like regular metal. Maybe this is the reason theis is such a problem. You might try calling a paint store or a body shop in your area and asking this question.
