Where do you find the thermostat in this car? Also how do you know if the thermostat is stuck?

Thank you so much

What kind of problem do you have? Also you most likely have a 2.8 or 3.1 engine.Give us a little more info maybe we can help.

OK... First of all there is no such thing as a Chevy 3.5L In the 1989 model there was the 2.0L 4 cylinder and the 2.8L 6 cylinder engines. Either one of these should be quite easy to find just by following the upper radiator hose back to the engine. You can check the thermostat by placing it in a pot of water with a thermostat and watching it heat up. IF it reaches its temp and doesnt open then it is stuck closed. If when you take it out and providing the engine is cool if it is already open then you know it is stuck open. If you are getting not so hot heat in the cool mornings then its likely stuck open letting the coolant flow freely and not giving it time to heat up. If you are overheating then it could be stuck closed among other things.
Hope this is helpful to ya,
