Does the trans fluid have to be replaced every year on this car (or 15K miles)? The dealer swears by it, but I find it kind of hard to believe. Is it also true that the trans has no filter?

it might be the cheapest thing you actually do to this car, and if it prevents a trans failure, then it definitely was the cheapest thing you ever did.

most honda automatics that i've seen had no filter, and the fluid is checked with the engine off.

for the real answer, look in the owner's manual, specifically the maintenance chart.

Those trans don't hold much fluid for a drain and fill but make sure you use the recommended fluid.I used to get a clean gallon jug and drain the trans into it mark the jug dump it and fill it to the line with new fluid and fill the trans. If you have no leaks it should put you right on the mark.
