Exclamation timing chain cover

I have removed all the bolts and sensor and that dang cover won't come off. It's loose up top but right above the crank shaft opening it wont budge and i don't want to bend it. am I missing something? It's a 98 chevy truck with a 454.

Yeah.... The oil pan has it trapped. Loosen the bolts on the pan and ease it down. You may end up taking it off and replacing the gasket in the process. In fact I would strongly advise that. It is possible to get it off, but you will certainly run a chance of bending it.
Hope this is helpful to ya,
Billy
