cold rad hose

I have a '92 chev caviler with a heating problem. The top rad hose is hot but the bottom one is cold. I just put in a new thermosate. any ideas

That kinda indicates a blocked radiator. The bottom hose should be a little cooler if the radiator is doing it's job but if it is real cold, it would indicate no circulation through it. The top hose being hot means the thermostat has opened and it's entering the radiator, just not leaving it.
