Blazer

I'm getting ready to buy the wife a used Blazer. "That's the condition so I can buy another hot-rod".

Probably going to spend $8-$9,000 so we'll likely end up with a 97' or 98' model maybe get lucky with a private owner and find a 99'.

Question is do any of these years have known problems to look out for?

We're going 4X4 w/4doors.

All I can tell you is that C---- R----- the magazine that tests and rates many products, lists the '95 thru '02 Blazer in their list of cars to avoid.

Good luck from a fellow Queen City resident.

Well that's great. Maybe I can talk her into something else.

I'm a Goldstar fan myself. My whole family as far as that goes.

I just like to say that 2 years ago we bought a 97 GMC Jimmy with 40,000 miles on it. It's had a few problems nothing too major. I replaced AC compressor at about 60,000. I hear 98 GM transmissions have alot of problems.

Good Luck

I've had a 98 for 3 years and the only major problem was the evaporator which was replaced under warranty. Make sure the original DexCool has been flushed and replaced since it causes problems after 5yr 50K. Other than that is has been a great truck. I tow a 4000lb boat with no problem at all.

Guess I'll have to wing it and hope for the best cause she is set on a Blazer. Too bad I can't talk her into a K-5 that's more my style. She says they're to big.

Goldstar and the Westside rules. But I still like you.

The west side IS the best side.
Keep one eye on the speedometer and one in the rear view mirror. Of course then you can't see where you are going.
Good luck with the Blazer hunt.
