Question ????fuel Pump In My Mazda!

OK....Can anyone tell me how to get to the fuel pump in a 1991 Mazda 323..
I think it needs to be changed. The car will be going ok then it will lag.. as if the was water in the gas... cleaned out the gas and still getting this....'lag'.. so now I am thinking its the fuel pump that needs a change...
Anyone can help...

Don't know the specifics of a Mazda, but I'd bet the pump is inside the fuel tank. You'll need to pull the tank to replace it. I had to replace the pump on my '88 Tempo and didn't have anywhere to work at the time. Cost for the dealer to do it was nearly $700 because of the labor involved.

I would suggest testing the fuel pressure during the lag condition. If it turns out to be the fuel pump some cars have access in the trunk or under the back seat not sure about yours. When was the last time the fuel filter was changed and how is the air filter?
