Antifreeze leaking

Today I was driving my 1996 Ford Ranger home from work and noticed an odor inside my truck. I turned on my heat and 30 seconds later the odor was more intense and the windows began to fog up. I pulled over, open the hood and saw that my antifreeze reservoir was empty. I filled it with antifreeze and drove another hour home with the window down because the odor was too intense. I lost about an inch out of the reservoir in the hour I drove home. Any ideas what this could be? Please help.

Ok. I have read some posts about them. Where can I find it and what does it look like exactly?

Usually if you follow the heater hoses to the fire wall the heater core is just on the other side. Some are very difficult to access. You may want to get a manual to see how difficult it is to get to.

Maybe someone here can tell you what is involved on your vehicle.
