Car is a 1992 Nissan Pathfinder...250,000 miles, Auto tranny...

Problem: On a cold start, when I put the car in reverse to back out of the drive, it just dies...no hesitation first or anything...it just cuts right off like i've turned the key...it takes about 4 or 5 trys before I can actually back it up...it's happened once going into drive, but only once...

Any help thanks!

With that many miles, many things are possible. First check it over real good for vacuum leaks. Next clean your throttle body with carb cleaner and an old toothbrush. Pull the snorkel off and have someone hold the throttle to the floor and scrub the back of the throttle plate and the surrounding housing. Reasemble the snorkel and try that. If your still having a problem, the IAC may be sticking and need replacing.
