Car won't start

I have an 87 celica - it has been sitting for a couple of months without being started. Tried to start it, nothing, tried jumping it, nothing - not even interior lights would work with cables hooked up - its like no battery is hooked up. One last thing - when the key is turned forward, it will come out of the ignition - it is possible that, when I tried to start it about a month after it had been sitting, that I removed the key with the ignition turned forward. I remember older cars had points that could burn out if the ignition was turned forward so wanted to mention it. Any ideas?

Thanks

You need to install a "known good battery" before you can go any further. Remove that one and have it tested if you have to.

Thanks - I'll swap one out of one of the other cars.
