Remove touch-up paint from finish

I've got a '03 Mazda 6 (I believe it's a clear coat, correct me if i'm wrong please)

Got a scratch on it, and put some touch-up paint on the scratch. What I didn't realize until it was too late is that some of the paint dripped over the scratch and built up on the good paint + finish.

What's the best + easiest way to remove this after it's dried, without damaging the original finish? Someone suggested very fine sandpaper to me, but wont that scratch up the clear coat under the touch-up paint?

Thanks

I think you would need to sand it off.If it's not that bad leave it alone you may make it worse or more noticable.

Try a clay bar before you try any sanding. Mother's, Clay Magic, and Zaino are good. The Meguiar's is not very good.

If the finish is factory lacquer thinners would remove the touch up and leave the factory finish.
