95 intrepid rear wheel suspension

when i drive on a bumpy road or over a pot hole my rear wheel moves up and down frequently causing the car to appear loose in the back end. Watching from the road the tire vibrates up and down over rough road. Can it be the strut or any of the links attached or the strut plate. When i test the rear end in park there appears little or no bounce in the car, a broken strut would would have this extra bounce if broke i think

IT sounds like you are describing normal motion based on conditions. Is there any problems while on smooth roads?

yes the wheel has too much play in it
i lifted the frame and it appears that the top of the strut has dislocated. is there a plate that the strut attaches to

There are 3 nuts that attach the strut...They are through bolted and in the front of the trunk. Is the whole assembly moving or just the strut???
