1999 Lincoln Town Car Executive(broken starter?)

Engine: 8 Cylinder Gasoline
Trans.: 4 Speed Automatic with Electronic Overdrive
Fuel Type: Gasoline
Drive Type: 2 wheel drive

All right so here's what happened.

I got in my car and started it, no problem. Then for some reason I turned the key in the ignition again. Everything died; windows, lights, radio, everything. My friend brought his car over and tried to jump it. Everything started working again, but the engine still will not start. Did i blow out the starter or a fuse or the alternator or what? Thanks.

if it cranks but,no run i would start at the fuses under the dash and the fuses under the hood.to see if you have one blown.but if the starter dont turn over have the starter checked.

re

Thanks for the reply. If I need a new starter, around how much would that cost?

For a 4.6 liter it should be about $120 + $50-$60 core charge
You get the core charge back when you return the old starter
