Temperature Cooling Switch 3.1

Hi. My husband is trying to replace the temperature cooling switch on our car, a 1996 Chevy Lumina 3.1, but we are having trouble finding it.

I've looked on the web and can't really find any diagrams.

Does anyone know exactly where it can be found?

Thank you in advance!

Oops

Actually that's a coolant temperature SENSOR, not switch...

Thanks!

I don't have any manuals in front of me right now, but try following the upper radiator hose back to the thermostat. It should be in that area. Remember the sensor has to be somewhere the coolant can flow past it. I don't mean to insult you, but that is the easiest way to describe it.

It's usually a two wire sensor and if you already have the replacement you can use it to "match" the old one.
