change oil light

I have a 2000 Saturn SL2, the change oil light comes on and stays on for about 1 minute after the car has started. I have changed the oil and filter. And even taken it to a Oil change station and had the oil changed. The light still comes on after the engine has started. Did I miss something?

oil change light

These lights need to be reset and the procedure varies from vehicle to vehicle.

Check your owner's manual and see if it tells you how to do it.

Hopefully, someone more familiar with the Saturn line will come along and have an answer.

I'm not sure if this is the procedure for your vehicle but it is for most GM vehicles. Turn the key on and push the accelerator all the way to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds. That may work.

On the same subject, but a different make: Anyone know the procedure for resetting the maintenance light on a '90 Dodge?

dodge maint light reset

Last time I checked it required a scan tool.

I don't know if AutoZone or the others can do this for you or not. Their scan tools are pretty basic and mostly only pull codes.
