Oil leak on 1996 Dogde Neon.

I have a 1996 Dogde Neon that's leaking oil. It's coming from a sensor beside the valve cover, not the head gasket. What is the name of this sensor. I hear that it's notorious for leaking oil. The car is a SOHC, 2 liter.

it's not nearly notorious as a head gasket, but that seal comes free when you purchase a head gasket(at a dealer anyway)

i've replaced a few, it's called the cam sensor o-ring. it has four 10mm bolts and one wire connector. it can only go on one way, and is a fairly easy thing to do.

let me know if you have any questions.

(we are talking about the black, square, flat sensor on the battery side of the head, right??)

That's the one!

Yep, that's the one. Is the O-ring available by itself? So far, I've only been able to find it with the camshaft sensor.

the place with the big red 'dodge' sign has them in stock, and i bet it's all of $4. (don't worry, they don't bite!)
