muffller/exhuast leak

My 2001 sentra has the above. Years ago you could get a section of the exhaust system cut and avoid the cost of a engine to tail pipe replacement.
I have a Midas and a pep boys nar me besides the regular service staions.
How would you handle this situation to avoid excessive costs.
Thanx
Pete

...to an exhaust shop and get an estimate. most all exhaust systems are very serviceable.

EXHAUST

Will do but Midas is the only one around; I don't trust them so I'll have Pep boys give me an estimate also and go with the better of the two.
Thanx

I think you'll do the best at an exhaust specialist, other than Midas. There should be many other choices around. Forget about Pep Boys. They have no clue when it comes to exhaust and the exhaust parts they carry aren't all that cheap either. The systems are designed to replace from the cat back which is usually 2 or 3 pieces. When one part is rusted, the other won't be strong enough to re-attach a fresh component. Change it all together. You'd be surprised how cheap it can be done nowadays. (except at Midas, that is)

Thanx, Desi, I'll look in the yellow pages and shop around-you saved me some headaches and jingle.
