knock/bump going around turns

1997 Isuzu Rodeo, 123000 miles. I'm hearing a single knock or bump in the rear wheel area when I go around turns (mostly to the right, sometimes to the left). Any idea what to look for??

call any dealer with your vin# and see if you have any outstanding recalls, the one for the trailing arm bolts might apply to your's.

short of that, get under there with a large (1/2") ratchet, or better yet, a breaker bar, and tighten all the rear suspension components. rear track bar, shock bolts, all four rear axle links(8 bolts), and the sway bar end link bolts too. make sure the spare tire is tight against the body (if you have one down there) and also that the jack isn't bouncing around in it's compartment.

see if that helps
