Squeaking front end on newer Taurus

Hi to all. I'm trying to help a friend diagnose the squeaking sound from the front of his newer (97-00?) Taurus. The squeaking (like a bad door hinge) is coming from the front LH suspension. It occurs when pushing down on the fender and also when turning the wheel back and forth. When listening under the car while bouncing the suspension, I couldn't tell if the problem was a bushing, strut, spring or other. The noise was all over the left side. Was thinkng maybe also the strut bearing plate.

Anyhow, any ideas are greatly appreciated,

Steve H.

Have someone continue to bounce the suspension enough to duplicate the sound as you reach under and put your hand on every moving part. When you hit the right one, you will feel the vibration distinctly. Check things like ball joint, tie rod end, spring seats (upper and lower), control arm bushings and stabilizer links.
