A/C on my car

A/C on my car

Hi
Looking for the answer if anyone can help.
I have a 1980 Cutlas supreme , my a/c blows out from the bottom,
but i cant get it to blow out from the vents on the dash board.
Please help
what could it be??????

no AC upper vents

Usually means the doors that direct/redirect airflow aren't changing positions.

I don't know this particular vehicle, but if it isn't electronically controlled climate controls, you've most likely got a defective or disconnected vacuum control hose.

Without vacuum, there's no control.

Not much question, it's a door problem. The unusual thing is that it usually defaults to defrost in the absense of vacuum. It could be one of the doors stuck. Check both things.

vacuum supply line from under the hood...

...or the rotary vacuum switch in the control part in the dash.

Are they still using those things? I thought they upgraded some by now. This car is kinda old.
