rusted license plate screw

I'm not able to remove a rusted license plate screw. I've tried freeing it up using "liquid wrench" without any success. I've also tried to grab it with a pair of vice grips, no go.

At this point the flathead screw driver slot is pretty much stripped.

Any suggestions?

Pick up a screw extractor kit from your local hardware store, always a good thing to have for the shadetree.

You could with the aid of the trusty hacksaw blade--make another grove in the head. At the very least you would have the head closer to being removed and then you could drill out center with a normal bit and use plastic next time. Brad
